About CRT Japan
Caux Round Table (CRT) is a global network of business leaders working to realize a fair, free and transparent society through sustainable and socially responsible business. Since its establishment in 1986, at Caux in Switzerland, the members of CRT have been working to promote corporate social responsibility (CSR) and responsible business behavior based on the CRT Principles for Business.
Caux Round Table Japan (CRT Japan) started its activities in Japan as a registered NPO (Non-Profit Organization) in 2006. As a founding member of CRT, CRT Japan has been providing a unique service that helps companies implement CSR. Guided by the belief “…putting one’s own house in order and on seeking to establish what is right rather than who is right.”, CRT Japan is expanding its activities whilst bridging the gap between companies and various stakeholders.

CRT Principles for Business
Currently, there are various norms and charters as guidelines for companies to fulfill their responsibilities to society.
Among them, “CRT Principles for Business” established by Caux Round Table (CRT) in 1994 can be said as a predecessor.
Though each country has created action guidelines base on its own culture and values until then, “CRT Principles for Business” was created by gathering executives and businesspeople from Japan, the United States, and Europe. It was the first universal guideline that could be shared across the difference of cultures, religions, races and values.
“CRT Principles for Business” is made up of seven principles and seven stakeholders and describes the responsibilities that companies must fulfill.
