In today’s global business environment, supply chain management is increasingly critical for business continuity and success. The Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) is well known for its Code of Conduct and Validated Audit Program to support supply chain sustainability in the global electronics industry. The EICC also runs the multi-industry Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative, leading conflict minerals due diligence program, and partners with JEITA in Japan for its conflict minerals activities.
Amongst all of its activities, the EICC maintains a special focus on business and human rights as well as stakeholder engagement.
In Japan, the Caux Round Table Japan began in 2012 the Nippon CSR Consortium as a platform to discuss business and human rights, including a series of human rights due diligence workshops with companies and NPO/NGOs.
In this seminar, Julie Schindall, Director of Communications & Stakeholder Engagement at the EICC, will introduce the EICC, its initiatives on business and human rights and its investment in stakeholder engagement. She will also address sustainability communications and how companies can better communicate about their sustainability activities.
