In recent years, companies have been encouraged to promote organizational activities to ensure sustainability as set out in the UN Global Compact and ISO 26000. In the fun-up to the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games (the 2020 Tokyo Games), the demand to call for the proper preparation and operation across the life-cycle in the 2020 Tokyo Games including the stages of planning, constructing, procuring and implementing will continue to rise so that excessive impacts are not imposed on the natural and social environments that benefit the present and future. As many Japanese companies are involved in procurement activities, they will face requests to make sure that the products and services provided though domestic and global supply chains in the 2020 Tokyo Games meet social demands.
Looking into the 2020 Tokyo Games, this seminar highlights the issues that Japanese companies operating businesses in Thailand should be aware of, and explores ideas and systems which are important to be considered to promote human rights and well-being a work across supply chains. In addition, it introduces case studies of companies and organizations and conducts a workshop, which help participants to understand key points in promoting activities within their companies and supply chains.
After this seminar, we are planning to have a report meeting on 24th and 25th March in Tokyo. We would appreciate you for sharing this seminar with your colleagues in the headquarters and inviting them to participant in the report meeting.
We look forward to seeing you at the seminar.
