Since September 2012, the Nippon CSR Consortium, whose secretariat is Caux Round Table Japan (CRT Japan), has been working to provide a forum where participants can identify and discuss negative human rights impacts that may arise as a result of corporate activities. This work has been conducted in collaboration with companies from various industrial sectors, as well as NPOs/NGOs and human rights experts in academia.

The ninth Human Rights Due Diligence Workshop for 2020 continued to use the Human Rights Guidance Tool developed by the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) to identify sector specific human rights issues.Further information is here.

The Nippon CSR Consortium issued “Human Rights Issues by Sector (draft)” as the outcome of the discussions in the workshop, and invites for public comments on the “Human Rights Issues by Sector (draft)”
