Ⅱ. Our Approach
In recent years, the environment surrounding companies has changed significantly. As the impact of corporate activities on society and the environment increases both positively and negatively. There is an increasing demand for companies as a responsible member of society to understand and respond to their own impacts throughout the value chain. In addition, the standards for corporate evaluation have changed. Companies are being evaluated not only for their financial aspects but also for their CSR / Sustainability efforts (ESG: Environment, Social, Governance).
Under such circumstances, CRT-Japan focuses on the practice of the United Nations “Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights” (hereinafter, “UNGPs”) in corporations, and the partnership with global initiative organizations, CRT-Japan developed “Sustainable Navigation”, a comprehensive framework of CSR activity.
The characteristic of our approach is to “enable effective and efficient practice in companies”. Helping to identify prominent issues such as human rights risk assessment and impact assessment is provided by providing a collaborative platform for stakeholder engagement and tools that can address the identified issues (with partner organizations such as Bluenumber and Sedex).
In order to support the integration of “business and human rights” into management decisions, which are required globally, we implement the human rights due diligence required on the UN Guiding Principles. Going forward, we will step up efforts related to ESG investment to support the integration of “Business and Human Rights” into management decisions that are required globally.
