On anti slavery day, we are delighted to announce, that Ardea International (formally CLT envirolaw) and Caux Round Table Japan are entering into a partnership to support Japanese companies to comply with the UK Modern Slavery Act. The act came into force in the UK in 2015 and its principles are now spreading globally. Press release is here.

Colleen Theron, the Director of Ardea International, said, ‘I am delighted to be partnering with Caux Round Table Japan who has an established reputation working with businesses to implement business and human rights programmes. We believe that our joint expertise can help businesses in Japan appropriately respond to the Modern Slavery Act.’ Hiroshi Ishida, Executive Director of Caux Round Table Japan, said ‘We are delighted to announce this partnership with Ardea International. Colleen is a distinguished lawyer and has been actively providing advice to companies who face modern slavery risks in the UK for years and was involved with the consultation of the TISC (Transparency in Supply Chains etc. A practical guide) clause. We appreciate the importance of the Modern Slavery Act and foresee that similar laws, regulations and declarations will be enacted and imposed in other countries. We expect to help Japanese companies to meet their legal requirements, by combining the legal knowledge of Ardea International and the business and human rights knowledge at Caux Round Table Japan.’
