Despite the significant increase of foreign workers in Japan, it is unclear who came through which recruitment agencies, and which companies and supply chains they work in. That poses an increased human rights risks for Japanese companies. CRT Japan supports companies who want to hear and learn from voices of their foreign workers. CRT aims to build a platform allowing and including Government, companies, recruitment agencies, and third-party support organizations, to work together to help foreign workers in Japan.
The Global Supply Chain Data Management System helps businesses to know the situation of foreign workers in their supply chains. Companies encourage their subsidiaries and suppliers to register with the system and to respond to survey, which allows them to gather data on the total number of workers including foreigners (by employment type, visa status, gender, nationality). The system offers a Knowledge Base for companies to share information such as policies and training between their business units and partners. No personal information of foreign or other workers is collected.
Ninja is a system where foreign workers can raise their concerns or anxieties in their native language. They can access Ninja by reading a QR code on their phones, input their information (Email, Name, Nationality, Date of birth), and begin using the system. They can choose to send their own messages or select questions from a template list to submit. When there are responses from CRT or the organization they belong to (such as their working companies or supervising companies), they will be notified via SMS to their registered phone numbers or emails. Through multiple exchanges, organizations and foreign workers can deepen communication. Ninja differs from Ninja Anon in that it “requires registration to begin using”, “provides a prepared list of questions”, and “allows for multiple exchanges”. Although registration is required to use the service, foreign workers can also raise their voices “anonymously”.
Supported languages (as of March 2024): Japanese, English, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Tagalog, Myanmar language.
The Ninja Anonymous version is offered as a sister version of Ninja (above system). It is a system where foreign workers can use anonymously without registration. Companies are required to respond within two weeks of the submission date, indicating whether or not they have a policy regarding the content of the messages and provide contact information for the person responsible for the next steps. Ninja Anon uses humanID to enable secure, fast, anonymous login.
Supported languages: Japanese, English, Indonesian, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Vietnamese, Indonesian, Tagalog, Malay
