Since September 2012, the Nippon CSR Consortium, with its secretariat at Caux Round Table Japan (CRT Japan), has been fostering a platform for participants to identify and discuss potential negative human rights impacts stemming from corporate activities. This collaborative effort involves companies from diverse industrial sectors, alongside NPOs/NGOs and human rights experts from academia.

In 2025, the 14th Human Rights Due Diligence Workshop continued to leverage the Human Rights Guidance Tool developed by the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) to pinpoint sector-specific human rights concerns.

The Nippon CSR Consortium has released a draft document titled “Human Rights Issues by Sector,” encapsulating the outcomes of the workshop discussions. The Consortium is now inviting public comments on this draft.
