Caux Round Table Japan (Hereinafter referred to as “we”, “our”, or “us”) recognises the protection of personal information acquired through our activities as a social responsibility. We shall comply with laws and regulations concerning personal information and hereby establishes the following Privacy Policy.
1.Scope of Application
This policy applies to all personal information acquired and utilised in all our activities.

We collect personal information by lawful and fair means and handle the information only where there is a legal basis as set out below.

3.Information Retention Period
Where a statutory retention period applies, we will comply with such requirements. 5.Objections to the Processing of Personal Information

6.Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
Except where required by laws and regulations, or where a legal basis for processing exists as set out in Section 2, we will not provide personal information to third parties without your prior consent.
The intended recipients are as follows:
(1) Service providers and processors
We have entered into agreements with these parties regarding the handling of information to ensure the rigorous management of your personal information.
(2) Third parties to whom disclosure is required by law
We may be required to disclose your personal information to government agencies, courts or other entities to which we are legally obliged to disclose it. This includes disclosures to comply with laws, regulations, administrative instructions or court orders. In such events, we will notify you promptly after disclosure, provided there are no legal or practical obstacles to doing so.
7.Cross-border transfer of Personal Information
As stated in Section 6, we may share information with third parties, some of whom may be located in Japan. Japan has been recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection. All companies and organisations receiving information from us shall process such information in compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan (APPI) and the OECD Privacy Eight Principles, which are international standards for data privacy.
8.Security Measures
We implement technical and organisational security measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of personal information. Furthermore, in the event of a personal data breach, we will promptly notify the supervisory authority and you, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
9.Compliance with Laws and Regulations and Continuous Improvement
We will comply with laws, regulations and other standards relating to personal information, and strive to continuously improve this policy and our personal information protection framework.
