“2026 Business and Human Rights Conference in Tokyo” will be held online by Caux Round Table Japan (CRT Japan) on 23rd October 2026.
The conference brochure can be found here.

Since the endorsement of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) in 2011, human rights legislation across global supply chains has evolved rapidly. Although recent political and economic developments have caused a pendulum swing between regulatory tightening and easing, the fundamental imperative remains clear: integrating respect for human rights into core business strategy is essential for sustainable growth and long-term competitiveness.

While an increasing number of companies are undertaking Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD), many remain stalled at policy formulation and desk research. Very few have achieved effective, practical operationalization under the UNGPs. Today, stakeholders demand robust management capabilities that seamlessly embed sustainability into critical business decision-making.

To address these challenges, the 15th Conference will convene leading international experts in Tokyo to examine emerging global trends and critical issues. The event offers corporate leaders and practitioners a forum to gain actionable insights for UNGPs implementation, while highlighting Japanese corporate initiatives on the global stage.
