The Sustainability & Sports Integrity Study Group (renamed from the Group of Experts for Sustainable Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games), which CRT-Japan is a member of the group, conducted examinations to ensure sustainability and the integrity of sports at the Tokyo 2020 Games from December 2014 to August 2015 (5 meetings in total). The results of the examinations were summarized, and released as “Report of the Sustainability & Sports Integrity Study Group“. It was submitted to the Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Further information is here
CRT-Japan, a Vice Chair of United Nations Working Group on the issue of human rights and transnational corporations and other business enterprises, Institute for Human Rights and Business, and Business & Human Rights Resource Centre co-hosted the “2015 Business and Human Rights Conference in Tokyo” on 16th and 17th September 2015. In one section, the topic of “Mega-Sporting Events and Business and Human Rights” was addressed. Further information is here
CRT-Japan and Institute for Human Rights and Business invited public comments on “Draft Sustainable Sourcing Policy for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics” on 25 August 2015. The final version of this report will be submitted to the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Further information is here
2015 Human Rights Due Diligence Workshop consisted of two sections. In the first section, participants discussed and identified actual or potentially adverse human rights issues arisen from corporate activities by sector. In the second section, they conducted a workshop to discuss how to ensure sustainable food procuring practices in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. As outcomes of the discussions, a draft “Food Vision” for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics (Japanese only) was created and submitted to the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.Further information is here
